EXPLORE JAMBI - Nestled amidst the unexpected beauty of nature, Jambi Province unveils a hidden gem of a tourist destination, Danau Depati Empat, located in the Jangkat District of Merangin Regency.

Standing tall at an altitude of 1,200 meters above sea level, this lake mesmerizes visitors with its exotic natural charm.

Spanning across an impressive 271 hectares, Danau Depati Empat delights the eyes with its lush green hills, dense forests, and crystal-clear flowing waters.

Enhancing its natural allure are the presence of twin mountains, Pandan Hill and Pandan Bungsu Hill, adding to the enchantment of this lake.

According to local folklore, the lake was bequeathed by four "depatis" or local rulers, namely Depati Payung, Depati Gento Rajo, Depati Siang Dito, and Depati Muncak. This historical narrative adds a unique value to the lake, integral to the local way of life.

Despite transportation access being somewhat rustic, involving bamboo rafts and traditional boats, the journey to Danau Depati Empat remains adventurous and enjoyable.

Visitors can reach the location by car, traveling approximately 120 kilometers from Bangko City to Pulau Tengah Village.

Surrounded by two local communities, Sungai Tenang clan in the east and Serampas clan in the west, the area around the lake adds a touch of local wisdom to the tourist experience.

Explorers have the option to choose between two trekking routes, either from Pulau Tengah Village (9 km) or from Danau Pauh Hamlet towards Rantau Kermas Village (12 km), turning the journey into an unforgettable adventure.
