EXPLORE JAMBI - Tourists who haven't planned their Christmas 2022 and New Year 2023 (Nataru) vacation yet, may consider a visit to Telun Berasap Waterfall in Kerinci Regency, Jambi. Telun Berasap Waterfall is located in Telun Berasap Village, Kayu Aro District, Kerinci Regency, Jambi Province. This beautiful waterfall leaves a deep impression on every visitor because it is surrounded by lush greenery of Kerinci Seblat National Park. According to Arif Budiman, Head of Jambi Province's Culture and Tourism Agency, the waterfall is hidden among dense trees, and the sound of rushing water hitting steep rocks can be heard from a distance before it comes into view.

"The waterfall flows through steep cliffs with a height of around 50 meters. The cubic meter of water flows through rock formations, with its source coming from the river that originates from Lake Gunung Tujuh," he said. He also mentioned that this Familiarization Trip destination has a cave, but it is difficult to enter.

"The cave is difficult to enter because of the strong water flow and the steep rocks around the waterfall. As a result, no one has been able to enter the cave and study its conditions," explained Arif Budiman. Around the waterfall, there are huts that allow visitors to enjoy the view of the waterfall from a height.

"If you're brave enough, you can climb up to the top of the waterfall to get a different view," Arif added. It should be noted that Telun Berasap Waterfall is not suitable for cliff jumping because its base is shallow and rocky along the stream.

The distance to Telun Berasap Waterfall is approximately one hour from Kerinci Regency's city center. From Jakarta, tourists can take advantage of Garuda Indonesia, which operates ten flights per week. After arriving at Sultan Thaha Airport in Jambi, the journey to Kerinci Regency can be continued by land. Don't forget to bring spare clothes, warm clothing, and non-slip sandals or rubber shoes to adapt more easily to the Telun Berasap Waterfall tourist destination.

Admission to Telun Berasap Waterfall is also very affordable. On weekdays, visitors are charged IDR 10,000 (for adults) and IDR 5,000 (for children). On weekends, the fees are IDR 6,000 (for adults) and IDR 4,000 (for children).

After visiting Telun Berasap Waterfall, visitors can explore dozens of other leading destinations around Mount Kerinci, such as Lake Kerinci, PTPN 6, Rawa Bento, and others. Juanda Sasmita, Head of Kerinci Regency's Tourism and Cultural Office, welcomed the Familiarization Trip activities that highlight several tourist destinations in the area.
